Suntory Yamazaki Distillery

A whiskey distillery for Suntory Spirits. The founder, Shinjiro Torii, built the distillery to make whiskey suited to the delicate taste buds of the Japanese, selecting as its location Yamazaki area based on his fastidious concern for quality water and natural environment. Visitors can tour the facility (charges apply and advance reservations required) as well as sit at the Whiskey Tasting Counter and enjoy original whiskey tastes not found anywhere else (charges apply). Approx. 10-min. walk from Yamazaki Station on the JR Kyoto Line and Oyamazaki Station on the Hankyu-Kyoto Line.
